New Year, New Mind – Alzheimer’s
Last month we began a series on the major organs by looking at your mind and the role of emotions in illness. Today we carry on with a look at the brain.
As we age, we all need to be concerned with Alzheimer’s; preventing it in yourself, reversing if need be and just recognizing it in our loved ones. It is not inevitable with old age, but the process starts in your forties or earlier, with early damage is seen as much as 10 years before symptoms show up.
According to experts such as Dr. Mercola and Dr. Oz say Dementia and Alzheimer symptoms can be prevented, even reversed to a degree with the right nutrition and proper natural approaches. (Dr. Mercola is a leading authority on nutritional prevention.)Even conventional research scientists are saying the same things. UCLA researcher, Dr. Gary Small promotes a very similar approach of diet and nutrition and says symptoms can begin reversing within a short period of time.
Don’t wait until you see symptoms in yourself or loved ones, get started on a brain and heart healthy diet that is; low in sugars and grains and high in fresh veggies that are high in green/red/yellow goodness, lean and vegetable proteins, wild caught salmon, lentils, quinoa, chia, and fish oils. Optimize your vitamin D levels and get some exercise. It’s up to us to take care of our health.
